A Cationic Supramolecule With Potent Antifungal Activity, Single‐Species Selectivity, and Strong Synergy With Echinocandins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce a new membrane‐active antifungal design, Gua‐SMACS‐16, that exhibits high potency and single‐species selectivity for C. tropicalis while sparing other close species in the Candida genus. Moreover, when combining with caspofungin, a clinical antifungal drug inhibiting 1,3‐β‐glucan synthase, they exhibit ultra‐strong synergy across a panel ...

Rare Case of Psychrobacter Sanguinis Bacteremia in a Homeless Patient with Thigh Phlegmon

open access: yesPostępy Mikrobiologii
Psychrobacter sanguinis is an emerging opportunistic pathogen predominantly isolated from cold environments that is increasingly recognized for its clinical relevance. This case report documents a rare instance of P. sanguinis bacteremia in a 69-year-old

Aptamer‐Directed Porous DNA Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Active Pulp Preservation: Immunomodulation, Stem Cell Recruitment and Reparative Dentinogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable DNA‐based porous hydrogel integrating catechol motifs and targeting aptamers for pulpitis management. Upon in situ crosslinking, the scaffold actively recruits endogenous dental pulp stem cells, restores redox homeostasis, and modulates immune responses.

Metagenomic next-generation sequencing and conventional microbiology for microbial profiling in biliary tract infections: a comparative study with clinical stratification

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
BackgroundBiliary tract infections (BTIs) are clinically important conditions characterized by complex heterogeneous microbial profiles. However, the complete spectrum of implicated microorganisms, particularly anaerobic species and polymicrobial ...

Eco‐Geography Reverses Dominant AMR Reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae: Integron‐Rich Mobilomes and Cross‐Niche Connectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dominant antimicrobial resistance reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae vary across eco‐geographic settings rather than following a universal pattern. Integrated One Health and global genomic analyses show that lineage structure, integron load, and cross‐niche connectivity shape whether AMR burden accumulates primarily in human or nonhuman compartments ...

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.
