Beyond the Reliable Change Index – Misunderstandings and Myths Surrounding the Jacobson–Truax Method
: More than three decades after its publication, Jacobson and Truax (1991) remains central to evaluating clinically significant change, yet it is often cited in simplified or partially reconstructed forms that invite misleading interpretations and myths.

Loss of eIF5A rewires thapsigargin‐mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress responses in multiple myeloma cells by selective translation of mRNA transcripts, consequently dampening thapsigargin‐induced unfolded protein response (UPR) activation and shifting the balance from induction of apoptosis toward cell survival and proliferation.

High‐risk bladder cancer is typically treated with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG), but 30–40% of patients relapse. No FDA‐ or CE‐approved biomarkers currently predict or prognosticate BCG failure. We systematically reviewed the literature and identified 72 eligible studies, revealing several promising biomarkers associated with BCG treatment response ...

In head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) p53 and p63 exert opposite roles on the transcription regulation of the lncRNA NEAT1. Under basal conditions, p53 levels are low and p63 represses NEAT1 expression. Upon genotoxic stress, p53 is rapidly induced, displacing p63 from the NEAT1 promoter leading to NEAT1 transcriptional activation and ...

Does more rehabilitation lead to better upper limb outcomes after stroke? A systematic review
PurposeTo determine whether increased rehabilitation duration improved upper-limb outcomes in people with subacute and chronic stroke. Where possible, we explored evidence for dose-response relationship or a ceiling effect for recovery.MethodsA ...

Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

Reprogramming tumor cells with LCOR mRNA nanotherapy to enhance immunotherapy
LCOR (Ligand‐dependent corepressor) mRNA encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles restores LCOR activity in tumor cells, constraining aggressive tumor cell states and increasing tumor immunogenicity. This reprogramming makes tumor cells more vulnerable to T‐cell attack and enhances their response to immune‐checkpoint immunotherapy.

Amyloid beta 42 alters cardiac metabolism and impairs cardiac function in male mice with obesity
There are epidemiological associations between obesity and type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease. The role of amyloid beta 42 (Aβ42) in these diverse chronic diseases is obscure.
