On the state of iron in a clinoptilolite

Hyperfine Interactions, 1995
The characterization of an iron-containing natural zeolitic sample from the deposit of Tasajeras (Cuba) has been carried out by means of X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and Fe K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge ...

Characterization of modified clinoptilolite

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Letters, 1992
Samples of clinoptilolite were modified using insoluble hexacyanoferrate from aqueous solution. The modified samples were characterized by elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, solid state NMR and vibrational spectroscopy. The sorption properties of modified clinoptilolite were studied, too.

Natural Clinoptilolite Nanoparticles Coated with Phosphatidylcholine

Doklady Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2022
A nanocarrier was obtained by coating the natural clinoptilolite particle surface with a phosphatidylcholine layer. The shell effective size does not exceed the thickness of the phospholipid molecular layer, which was confirmed by UV spectrometry and molecular mass spectrometry.

Antiviral properties of clinoptilolite

Microporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2005
The aim of this study was to evaluate the antiviral properties of clinoptilolite, a natural non-toxic zeolite. Herein, a fine powder of micronized zeolite (MZ) was obtained by tribomechanical micronization of natural clinoptilolite. Different viral suspensions were treated with MZ in concentrations ranging from 0.5 to 50 mg/ml.

Clinoptilolite-Heulandite Nomenclature

Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2001
Heulandite was first named in 1822 for the English mineral collector, J. H. Heuland (see Dana 1914, p. 574–576). Although it is typically found as macroscopic (commonly 0.2–2 cm in size) crystals in cavities in mafic igneous rocks and is volumetrically minor on the Earth’s surface, heulandite also occurs in larger amounts in some sedimentary deposits ...
