Use of Clinoptilolite in Ethanol Dehydration [PDF]
Clinoptilolite-type natural zeolite, which exists in various regions of Turkey, has been experimentally studied. For the ethanol-water-local clinoptilolite system, uptake and breakthrough curves were determined under a nitrogen gas atmosphere. In adsorption kinetics and adsorption equilibrium studies, the effects of particle size, temperature and ...

Improved modification of clinoptilolite with silver using ultrasonic radiation
The modification of natural clinoptilolite with silver ions using ultrasound has been investigated in the current work. The modification process was performed using clinoptilolite of different fractions (0–3.0 mm) over the temperature range of 25–55 °C ...

Clinoptilolite-Based Adsorbents for Paracetamol Removal. [PDF]
This study investigates the adsorption of paracetamol from aqueous solutions using natural clinoptilolite and its modified forms. The raw zeolite (p-CLI) was converted into its protonic (H-CLI) and organo-modified (o-CLI) counterparts through ammonium exchange and calcination, and treatment with hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HDTMA-Br ...

Adsorption of Sulfur Dioxide on Clinoptilolite/Nano Iron Oxide and Natural Clinoptilolite
Background: Sulfur dioxide gas is known to include pollutants that are harmful to human health and the environment. Therefore, due to the increase of industrial activities, SO2 gas pollution control is very important. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficiency of sulfur dioxide removal by iron oxide nanoparticles deposited ...

Use of a Natural Clinoptilolite Monolith as a Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor
Geomorphic clinoptilolite, a mechanically and thermally stable mineral substance, has very useful electrical properties due to the presence of extra-framework cations in the crystal structure. Indeed, owing to the electrical transport that alkaline earth

Removal of ammonia by clinoptilolite [PDF]
The important advantage of zeolite applied to water treatment is its high porosity when comparing to other minerals. The porosity results in good hydrodynamic properties (the increase in the pressure loss on the zeolite filters is 1.5-2.0 times smaller than in the case of sand filters) and adsorption roperties, and in turn high capacity which allows

Abstract This study examines the microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis (MACP) of individual and blended textiles (cotton, polyester, nylon 6) using ZnO and a ZnO/natural zeolite catalyst. In a custom‐built microwave reactor operated at 500°C, 1 kW power, and a 15‐min residence time, textile wastes were pyrolyzed.

Hydrothermal transformation of clinoptilolite
Procedure for hydrothermal transformation of natural clinoptilolite at 160°C is described. The synthesis is carried out in the system Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2-H2O. Products of 24–168 hr runs are characterized by x-ray diffraction,ir spectroscopy, energy dispersive analysis of x-rays (edax), and electron microscopy.

Adsorption of uranyl ion on acid-modified zeolitic mineral clinoptilolite [PDF]
In this paper, the results of adsorption of uranyl ion on acid-modified zeolitic mineral clinoptilolite are presented. Adsorption was investigated at different amounts of solid phase in suspension, as well as at different pH values.

Automated particle analysis of D.B. Cooper's tie
Abstract Automated particle analysis (APA) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive x‐ray spectrometry (EDS) is a well‐known method in forensics, especially as it is applied to gunshot residue analysis. Here we describe the analysis of particles lifted from D.B. Cooper's tie, which was left on the hijacked plane in 1971.
