Automated particle analysis of D.B. Cooper's tie

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Automated particle analysis (APA) using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive x‐ray spectrometry (EDS) is a well‐known method in forensics, especially as it is applied to gunshot residue analysis. Here we describe the analysis of particles lifted from D.B. Cooper's tie, which was left on the hijacked plane in 1971.

COMPARATIVE OF NATURAL ZEOLITE – CLINOPTILOLITE ELIMINATION OF METAL IONS/ESPECIALLY Cu (II) WITH D-PENICILLAMINE FROM BIOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENTS

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2021
Clinoptilolite is used as an adsorbent to remove heavy metal cations due to its function as a molecular sieve. This molecular sieve characteristic has made it possible to study the efficiency of clinoptilolite and D-Penicillamine in a comparative way in ...

Clinoptilolite supported feeding reduces excessive iron in thalassemia rat model created with iron loading

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2021
There is no regulatory mechanism for the removal of iron that accumulates in the body. Thalassemia patients are most affected by iron overload. The method often used in the treatment of these patients is iron chelation therapy, which involves removing ...

Effects of clinoptilolite and modified clinoptilolite on the growth performance, intestinal microflora, and gut parameters of broilers

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2013
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of natural clinoptilolite (NCLI) and modified clinoptilolite (MCLI) on broiler performance, gut morphology, and its relation to gut circumstances. A total of two hundred forty 1-d-old male chicks were randomly assigned to 3 treatments, each of which comprised 8 pens of 10 chicks per pen. Birds in the

Comparison of Soil Mineralogy From EMIT Imaging Spectroscopy and Ground‐Based Measurements in the Deserts of Southern California

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 12, 28 June 2026.
Abstract The highly variable spatial composition of desert soils remains a major source of uncertainty in estimates of dust radiative forcing. Existing soil mineralogy data sets used in climate models are limited by sparse ground observations and coarse spatial resolution.

The Occurrence and Morphology of Naturally Occurring Respirable Mordenite Mineral Fibres in New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics, Volume 69, Issue 2, June 2026.
Mordenite is a naturally occurring zeolite mineral that is the seventh most common zeolite mineral globally, forming at low temperatures (≥100°C) in hydrothermal systems. In New Zealand, extensive deposits of mordenite are commonly associated with areas of hydrothermal alteration, particularly in the Coromandel and Taupo Volcanic Zones.

Solid phase extractive preconcentration of silver from aqueous samples and antimicrobial properties of the clinoptilolite–Ag composite

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2017
Sorptive properties of the Transcarpathian clinoptilolite compared to Ag(I) were studied in a dynamic way. The sorptive capacity value of clinoptilolite under the optimal conditions is 11.7 mg of Ag per 1 g of zeolite.

Alteration of Feldspar‐Rich Rocks on Ancient Mars and Its Possible Link to Ca/Fe‐Rich Carbonates

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Feldspar‐rich rocks have increasingly been discovered on the martian surface. They may have been an important part of the ancient martian crust and may be related to Ca/Fe‐rich carbonates (one of two types of carbonates on Mars and the other being Mg‐rich carbonates), but compared to mafic rocks, their interaction with water on ancient Mars is

CLINOPTILOLITE WITH CESIUM IMMOBILIZATION TO POTASSIUM MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE MATRIX

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2017
The possibility of potassium magnesium phosphate (PMP) matrix application for immobilization of clinoptilolite with simulator of radioactive cesium isotopes was investigated.

Removal of Cs ions from aqueous solutions by using matrices of natural clinoptilolite and its safe disposal [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2016
The possibility to use natural zeolite - clinoptilolite as a host material for radioactive Cs immobilization has been investigated. Cs-exchanged form of clinoptilolite which was prepared by treatment of clinoptilolite powder with 0.25 M CsCl ...
