Stimulation of soil microbiological activity by clinoptilolite: The effect on plant growth [PDF]

open access: yesRatarstvo i Povrtarstvo, 2017
Zeolites can mitigate ammonium losses to the environment by taking up the ions from sources such as farmyard manure and ammonium-bearing fertilizers. This ability can improve nitrogen fertilizing practice given that ammonium ions loaded onto zeolite are ...

Effects of Formic Acid on the Adsorption of K on Modified Clinoptilolite

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2013
Adsorption of Escherichia coli K 88 on natural and acid-modified clinoptilolite was studied under ambient conditions. The materials under study were characterized in terms of surface area and cation-exchange capacity (CEC).

Removal of ammonia by clinoptilolite [PDF]

open access: yesGlobal NEST Journal, 2013
The important advantage of zeolite applied to water treatment is its high porosity when comparing to other minerals. The porosity results in good hydrodynamic properties (the increase in the pressure loss on the zeolite filters is 1.5-2.0 times smaller than in the case of sand filters) and adsorption roperties, and in turn high capacity which allows

Improving Ammonium and Nitrate Release from Urea Using Clinoptilolite Zeolite and Compost Produced from Agricultural Wastes

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2015
Improper use of urea may cause environmental pollution through NH3 volatilization and NO3- leaching from urea. Clinoptilolite zeolite and compost could be used to control N loss from urea by controlling NH4+ and NO3- release from urea.

Use of a Natural Clinoptilolite Monolith as a Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
Geomorphic clinoptilolite, a mechanically and thermally stable mineral substance, has very useful electrical properties due to the presence of extra-framework cations in the crystal structure. Indeed, owing to the electrical transport that alkaline earth

Hydrothermal transformation of clinoptilolite

open access: yesBulletin of Materials Science, 1985
Procedure for hydrothermal transformation of natural clinoptilolite at 160°C is described. The synthesis is carried out in the system Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2-H2O. Products of 24–168 hr runs are characterized by x-ray diffraction,ir spectroscopy, energy dispersive analysis of x-rays (edax), and electron microscopy.

Adsorption of uranyl ion on acid-modified zeolitic mineral clinoptilolite [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2009
In this paper, the results of adsorption of uranyl ion on acid-modified zeolitic mineral clinoptilolite are presented. Adsorption was investigated at different amounts of solid phase in suspension, as well as at different pH values.

Microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis of textile wastes: Synergistic effects and product characteristics

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis (MACP) of individual and blended textiles (cotton, polyester, nylon 6) using ZnO and a ZnO/natural zeolite catalyst. In a custom‐built microwave reactor operated at 500°C, 1 kW power, and a 15‐min residence time, textile wastes were pyrolyzed.

IONITES ON THE BASIS OF CLINOPTILOLITE

open access: yesInternational Academy Journal Web of Scholar, 2019
Organomineral ionites have been synthesized, in which natural mineral sorbent is chemically bound to organic part of a molecsule, containing ionogen groups. Ionogen groups of these ionites contribute to efficient exchange in water solutions.

Cr(VI) sorption by using clinoptilolite and bacteria loaded clinoptilolite rich mineral [PDF]

open access: yesMicroporous and Mesoporous Materials, 2012
Abstract Batch sorption experiments were performed in order to understand the potential value of local clinoptilolite rich mineral and its bacteria loaded form in Cr(VI) sorption. The results indicated that Cr(VI) sorption capacities of the sorbents were increased after bacteria loading and the clinoptilolite rich mineral is a promising material in ...
