Strategies for Mitigating Seasonal Heavy Metal Release in River Sediments Using Natural Mineral‐Based Materials

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 35, Issue 3, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents an ecological and geochemical assessment of trace element contamination in the Huyva River (Ukraine), a right tributary of the Teteriv River that supplies drinking water to Zhytomyr and nearby settlements. The research involved monitoring key physicochemical parameters, including pH, mineralization, hardness, and major ion ...

CO2 capture by modified clinoptilolite and its regeneration performance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
This study focuses on CO2 capture by pressure swing adsorption (PSA), with modified clinoptilolite as the adsorbent. Natural clinoptilolite is modified by roasting, by acid pickling, by a combination of acid pickling and roasting, and by ion exchange ...

The effects of clinoptilolite on piglet and heavy pig production

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
To evaluate the effects of clinoptilolite on piglet and heavy pig production two separated trials have been performed. In the first trial 40 pigs of the initial body weight of 55 kg were used. Animals were homogeneously allocated to two groups: a control

Evaluation and Optimization of Azithromycin Removal by Raw and Alkali‐Modified Peanut Shells Using Taguchi‐Based Experimental Design Approach

open access: yesWater Environment Research, Volume 98, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study demonstrates the optimization of azithromycin removal using raw and alkali‐modified peanut shell adsorbents via the Taguchi method, achieving up to 85% efficiency. The adsorption is governed by π–π interactions and hydrogen bonding, highlighting bio‐adsorbents as sustainable solutions for antibiotic removal from wastewater. ABSTRACT Advanced

Epoxidised Natural Rubber (ENR)/Wollastonite Composites for Tyre Inner Liners: A Practical Replacement for Butyl Rubber in Industrial Applications

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, Volume 66, Issue 2, Page 1153-1169, February 2026.
Replacing butyl rubber with ENR+Wollastonite in tyre inner‐liners. ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop epoxidised natural rubber (ENR)‐based rubber compound formulations as an alternative to butyl rubber for tyre inner liners. The effects of different vulcanization systems, designed to achieve similar curing behavior in NR‐based carcass compounds and ...

Impact Reactivation of a Hydrothermal System in Basalt in the Vargeão Dome Impact Structure, Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract As hydrous minerals have been observed in impact craters on Mars, impact‐generated hydrothermal systems (IGHSs) have been considered as potential habitats for life on that planet. The Vargeão Dome, a 12 km wide impact structure in southern Brazil, was formed in basalts with at least two hydrothermal alteration stages.
