Magmatic Processes at Euganean Hills (Veneto Volcanic Province, Italy): Clinopyroxene Investigation to Unravel Magmatic Interactions

open access: yesGeosciences, 2022
The Euganean Hills (NE Italy) magmatic district represents the final volcanic activity of the Veneto Volcanic Province. Alkaline to subalkaline magmatic suite dominated by intermediate to felsic volcanic rocks characterises the latest volcanic activity ...

Partial Melting of Lower Oceanic Crust Gabbro: Constraints From Poikilitic Clinopyroxene Primocrysts

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2018
Successive magma batches underplate, ascend, stall and erupt along spreading ridges, building the oceanic crust. It is therefore important to understand the processes and conditions under which magma differentiates at mid ocean ridges.

Application of clinopyroxene as a petrogenic mineral in determining the nature of Ordovician intrusive rocks in Ziarat (Southern Gorgan, Golestan Province)

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology, 2021
Introduction The study area is located in the Eastern Alborz zone (Gansser, 1951) which is a part of the northern margin of Gondwana during the Paleozoic (Stöcklin, 1974; Salehi Rad, 1979; Berberian and King, 1981; Şengor, 1990; Alavi, 1991, 1996 ...

Mineral chemistry of clinopyroxene and feldspars in the Neoproterozoic alkaline dykes of the Bangalore District, Karnataka, India [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1993
The unmetamorphosed Neoproterozoic dykes of the continental intraplate alkaline magmatism studied in Southern Karnataka consist of analcime-tinguaites, tinguaites, bostonites and solvsbergites.

Replication Data for: Clinopyroxene/Melt Partitioning: Models for Higher Upper Mantle Pressures Applied to Sodium and Potassium

open access: yes
This dataset encompasses five codes to replicate data published in Schmidt and Noack 2021 (accepted): The code D_Na.m calculates clinopyroxene/melt partition coefficients for sodium thermodynamically.

Surface textures of detrital pyroxenes in coastal dune sands (western Gulf of Mexico, Mexico): Implications for their preservation and geoenvironmental processes

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, 2023
This work investigates how the surface textures and morphology of pyroxene grains evolve during their source‐to‐sink history. This study applies to detrital clinopyroxenes concentrated in coastal dune sands of the Gulf of Mexico which were sourced in the

BONINITES AS A CRITERION FOR THE GEODYNAMIC DEVELOPMENT OF MAGMATIC SYSTEMS IN PALEOSUBDUCTION ZONES IN GORNY ALTAI

open access: yesГеодинамика и тектонофизика, 2018
Ancient primary boninitic melts of the Gorny Altai (65–105 km, 1410–1590 °C) were studied from the composition of melt inclusions in clinopyroxenes.

Creep of dry clinopyroxene aggregates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2001
We have determined diffusional and dislocation creep rheologies for clinopyroxenite Ca1.0Mg0.8Fe0.2Si2O6 under dry conditions by deforming natural and hot‐pressed samples at confining pressures of 300–430 MPa and temperatures of 1100°–1250°C with the oxygen fugacity buffered by either nickel‐nickel oxide or iron‐wüstite powders.
