Ectopic Prolactinoma in the Clivus
Acta Chirurgica Belgica, 1998Ectopic pituitary adenomas are rare. Only 29 cases are reported in the literature. The clivus was involved in some cases but sella turcica was occasionally involved.Headache was the first symptom of a 47-year-old woman. Radiological examination diagnosed a clivus tumour. No connection with the pituitary gland was observed.

Fibrous dysplasia of the clivus
World Neurosurgery, 1993The case of a 37-year-old man with monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the clivus is reported. This study includes clinical presentation, radiologic appearance, surgical findings, and pathology of this lesion. The significance of magnetic resonance imaging and management of this uncommon clival lesion are discussed.

SUMMARYA case of an osteochondroma, arising from the base of the skull is reported and the literature is reviewed. In particular, computerized tomography proved extremely valuable in confirming the diagnosis, defining the extent of the tumour mass, and assessing the effect on adjacent brain tissue.

A 8-month-old girl had an ependymoma in the clivus, 2 X 6 cm in size, connected with the fourth ventricle by a cord of tissue 0.5 cm thick. There were no indications to make us suspect the origin of the tumour in the fourth ventricle, or that it was a case of ependymoma.

Fibrous Dysplasia of the Clivus
