Precursory arch-like structures explain the clogging probability in a granular hopper flow

open access: yesCommunications Physics
The clogging phenomenon finds extensive application in both industrial processes and daily life events. While this broad spectrum of application motivated extensive research to identify the general factors underlying the clogging mechanism, it results in

Study on the pore blocking characteristics and cleaning methods of permeable asphalt mixtures based on accelerated clogging simulation experiments

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Clogging in permeable asphalt pavements compromises their functional properties. Understanding clogging characteristics and developing appropriate maintenance methods is crucial.

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.

Ladle Nozzle Clogging during casting of Silicon-Steel

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2019
To figure out the reason causing ladle nozzle clogging during a continuous casting process (or CC for short) for the silicon steel and get away to solve it, this paper studied the theoretical calculation of flow rates during casting, inclusions around ...

Clogging of riverbed substrates by fine sediment

open access: yes, 2023
Riverbeds represent the habitat of numerous aquatic species. Exchanges between the groundwater, the hyporheic zone and the surface flow are also essential for river ecosystems.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

CLOGGING POTENTIAL OF PERMEABLE CONCRETE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Permeable concrete is used to reduce local flooding in urban areas. However, it is prone to clogging by particulate matter and requires regular maintenance.
