Bacterial 16S Ribosomal Gene Fingerprints as a Tool to Diagnose and Mitigate Fish Larvae Gut Dysbiosis. [PDF]

open access: yesEnviron Microbiol Rep
This study profiles the gut microbiota of poor‐ and good‐quality seabream and seabass larvae across different sites using 16S rRNA sequencing. Several bacterial markers associated with larval quality were identified and used to develop a dysbiosis index. Gut bacterial correlation networks revealed potential bacteria–bacteria interactions.

ASSESSMENT OF THE INTESTINAL MICROBIOTA IN ADULTS WITH EROSIVE ESOPHAGITIS

open access: yesArquivos de Gastroenterologia, 2021
BACKGROUND: The intestinal microbiota influences the appropriate function of the gastrointestinal tract. Intestinal dysbiosis may be associated with a higher risk of esophageal lesions, mainly due to changes in gastroesophageal motility patterns ...

Effect of Food Restriction on Food Grinding in Brandt’s Voles

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Food grinding is supposed to be influenced by multiple factors. However, how those factors affecting this behavior remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of food restriction on food grinding in Brandt’s voles (Lasiopodomys brandtii ...

Bacterial Infection of an Alveolar Echinococcus Cyst from C. perfringens Septicemia: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

open access: yesMedicina, 2023
Background and Objectives: Alveolar echinococcosis (AE) is a highly variable disease able to present as structurally diverse cysts in different organs based on the host’s immunological state as well as the time between diagnosis and the primary infection.

Causal associations between gut microbiome and cardiovascular disease: A Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
BackgroundObservational studies have shown gut microbiomes were associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), but their roles remain controversial, and these associations have not yet been established causally.MethodsTwo-sample Mendelian randomization (

Dietary Patterns Impact Temporal Dynamics of Fecal Microbiota Composition in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2020
Environmental factors such as diet are known influencers on gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota variability and some diseases are associated with microbial stability. Whether microbial variability is related to symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and

Gut bacterial ClpB-like gene function is associated with decreased body weight and a characteristic microbiota profile

open access: yesMicrobiome, 2020
Background The chaperone ClpB, a bacterial protein, is a conformational antigen-mimetic of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) implicated in body weight regulation in mice.
