DNase production by Clostridium septicum [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 1987
Sixty-two Clostridium septicum isolates were assayed for extracellular DNase activity. All of the C. septicum isolates tested produced greater DNase activity than did the other DNase-producing clostridial isolates tested. The molecular weight of the DNase of C. septicum was determined to be approximately 45,000.

A simple electroelution method for rapid protein purification: isolation and antibody production of alpha toxin from Clostridium septicum [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2017
Clostridium septicum produces a number of diseases in human and farm animals which, in most of the cases, are fatal without clinical intervention. Alpha toxin is an important agent and the unique lethal virulent factor produced by Clostridium septicum ...

Complete high-quality genome sequence of Clostridium limosum (Hathewaya limosa) isolate 14S0207, recovered from a cow with suspected blackleg in Germany [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Clostridium limosum can be found in soil and the intestinal tract of animals. In 2014, C. limosum was isolated from a suspected blackleg outbreak in cattle in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. We present a complete genome sequence of a C.

Microbiological aspects and challenges of whey powders – I thermoduric, thermophilic and spore‐forming bacteria

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dairy Technology, Volume 76, Issue 4, Page 779-800, November 2023., 2023
Spores can be a serious issue in whey powders, especially when rehydrated and used as such, or to fortify other food products such as infant milk formulas and if spores can form biofilms. Spore numbers can be controlled using high‐quality milk, the sanitation of equipment and application of sufficient pasteurisation (can be with other decontamination ...
