The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Closures and topological closures in quasi-discrete closure spaces
First for a finite set \(U\) and then an infinite set \(U\), the author establishes a one to one correspondence between the quasi-discrete closures on \(U\) and the reflexive relations on \(U\) and shows that \(S\) is the transitive closure of \(R\) if \(R\) and \(S\) are the relations determined by the closures cl and \(\text{cl}_T\) (the topological ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

The generalized drift flux approach: Identification of the void-drift closure law [PDF]
The main characteristics and the potential advantages of generalized drift flux models are presented. In particular it is stressed that the issue on the propagation properties and on the mathematical nature (hyperbolic or not) of the model and the ...

At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

The Maxwell problem and the Chapman projection
We study the large-time behavior of global smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem for hyperbolic regularization of conservation laws. An attracting manifold of special smooth global solutions is determined by the Chapman projection onto the phase space ...
