Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Dagger closure and solid closure in graded dimension two [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce a graded version of dagger closure and prove that it coincides with solid closure for homogeneous ideals in two dimensional $\mathbb{N}$-graded domains of finite type over a field.Comment: 26 ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Sweat collection capsule [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A sweat collection capsule permitting quantitative collection of sweat is described. The device consists of a frame held immobile on the skin, a closure secured to the frame and absorbent material located next to the skin in a cavity formed by the frame ...

Variability in GRMHD simulations of Sgr A$^*$: Implications for EHT closure phase observations

open access: yes, 2016
The observable quantities that carry the most information regarding the structures of the images of black holes in the interferometric observations with the Event Horizon Telescope are the closure phases along different baseline triangles.

Inner Palindromic Closure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2013
We introduce the inner palindromic closure as a new operation ♠, which consists in expanding a factor u to the left or right by a non-empty word v such that vu or uv, respectively, is a palindrome of minimal length. We investigate several language theoretic properties of the iterated inner palindromic closure ♠*(w) = Ui≥0 ♠i(w) of a word w.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Actuator device schedules rate of valve closure [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Prevalve actuator schedules the closure rate of a valve. The actuator is spring loaded to produce a normally open valve and pneumatically powered to close the valve.
