The recalcification plasma clotting time. A valuable general clotting test in man and rats

open access: yes, 1969
An improved method for determining the recalcification plasma clotting time (PCT) in siliconized and plastic material is described. Provided the plasma is stored at 29–30 °C, this general clotting test appears to give highly accurate and reproducible ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Three cases of neutralization of factor Xa inhibitors with andexanet alfa under rotational thromboelastography monitoring

open access: yesAcute Medicine & Surgery
Background Factor Xa inhibitors are direct oral anticoagulants that are extremely useful in clinical applications, safe, and do not require dose adjustment.

The Flowing Clotting Time (Thrombus Formation Time) a Sensitive Test of Hypercoagulability

open access: yes, 1969
SummaryThe addition of small amounts of extrinsic thromboplastin or of thrombin to blood in vitro accelerated coagulation more frequently and to a greater extent when determined by the flowing time test than when measured by the silicone clotting time ...

The prologation of the thrombotest clotting time in newborns [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
As judged from thrombotest dilution curves clotting inhibiting material was present in 67% of humam umbilical cord plasma samples of healthy full term intants (n = 40).

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Effect of Using Non-Thermal Plasma Torch on Bleeding and Coagulation Times in Patients with a Family History of Blood Clotting Diseases [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة جامعة النجاح للأبحاث العلوم الطبيعية
Non-thermal plasma is considered one of the modern health tools that have been used in the medical field, especially in biological and clinical applications. Non-thermal plasma torch was designed and generated for medical use.

Role of E2 in Clotting Time and Clot Retraction.

open access: yes, 2015
A. Clotting time in WTc and E2-/- mouse PPP and PRP was induced by CaCl2. B. Clotting time of PRP upon addition of varying concentrations of recombinant EMILIN2 (rE2). rE2 protein was preincubated with PRP or PPP prior to addition of CaCl2. C.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
