The genome evolution and low-phosphorus adaptation in white lupin
White lupin is a legume crop that develops cluster roots for efficient phosphate acquisition. Here, the authors assemble its triplicated genome, reveal gene expression difference among sub-genomes, and characterize possible pathways related to high ...

Modified micro suction cup/rhizobox approach for the in-situ detection of organic acids in rhizosphere soil solution [PDF]
Root-soil interactions can strongly influence the soil solution chemistry in the rhizosphere. In the present study we propose a modification of the classical rhizobox/micro suction cup system to make it suitable for the collection and analysis of organic

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Nitrogen affects cluster root formation and expression of putative peptide transporters [PDF]
Non-mycorrhizal Hakea actites (Proteaceae) grows in heathland where organic nitrogen (ON) dominates the soil nitrogen (N) pool. Hakea actites uses ON for growth, but the role of cluster roots in ON acquisition is unknown. The aim of the present study was

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Algebraic singularities of scattering amplitudes from tropical geometry
We address the appearance of algebraic singularities in the symbol alphabet of scattering amplitudes in the context of planar N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 super Yang-Mills theory.

On isolation of singular zeros of multivariate analytic systems
We give a separation bound for an isolated multiple root $x$ of a square multivariate analytic system $f$ satisfying that an operator deduced by adding $Df(x)$ and a projection of $D^2f(x)$ in a direction of the kernel of $Df(x)$ is invertible.
