Shearer's point process, the hard-sphere model and a continuum Lov\'asz Local Lemma [PDF]
A point process is R-dependent, if it behaves independently beyond the minimum distance R. This work investigates uniform positive lower bounds on the avoidance functions of R-dependent simple point processes with a common intensity.

Yield and Fruit Quality of Loquat Trees as a Result of Flower Bud Thinning
The size and appearance of loquats are crucial for their acceptance in the consumer market. The loquat tree has intense fruiting, which suggests thinning flower buds in order to improve the quality of loquat fruit production.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Influence of Mechanical Flower Thinning on Fruit Set and Quality of ‘Arisoo’ and ‘Fuji’ Apples
This study aimed to identify the efficiency of mechanical flower thinning (MFT) and its influence on apple fruit quality. In the first experiment, ‘Arisoo’ apple flowers were subjected to MFT with one hundred sixty-two (half) and three hundred twenty ...

Movement Disorders in Aicardi–Goutières Syndrome and Response to Immunomodulation
ABSTRACT This study characterizes movement disorders and treatment responses in seven children with Aicardi–Goutières syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively evaluated motor phenotypes, neuroimaging, and interferon signatures in patients treated with baricitinib or anifrolumab. Spasticity affected all patients, while dystonia was present in 4/7.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Ferromagnetic bubble clusters in Y0.67Ca0.33MnO3 thin films [PDF]
We studied the ferromagnetic domains and the presence of phase coexistence in a Y0.67Ca0.33MnO3 thin film with a combination of magnetic force microscopy and magnetization measurements. Our results show that the spin glass-like behavior, reported previously for this system, could be attributed to frustrated interfaces of the bubble-like ferromagnetic ...
