Optimizing crop loading of apples and pears - results 2004-2006 (foliar fertilizers, thinning) [PDF]
Main topics of the research-project FuE 03OE088 of “Bundesprogramm Ökologischer Landbau” (30.04.2004-31.12.2006) were the testing of foliar fertilizers in organic apples and pears, optimizing lime sulphur for blossom thinning, looking for alternatives ...

Reduced regional brain cortical thickness in patients with heart failure. [PDF]
AimsAutonomic, cognitive, and neuropsychologic deficits appear in heart failure (HF) subjects, and these compromised functions depend on cerebral cortex integrity in addition to that of subcortical and brainstem sites.

Improving the Phenolic Content of Tempranillo Grapes by Sustainable Strategies in the Vineyard
Wine phenolics are of considerable interest due to their implication in the organoleptic appreciation of wines and due to their bioactive functions as antioxidants.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Directionally Convex Ordering of Random Measures, Shot Noise Fields and Some Applications to Wireless Communications [PDF]
Directionally convex ($dcx$) ordering is a tool for comparison of dependence structure of random vectors that also takes into account the variability of the marginal distributions.

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Thinning out redundant empirical data
Given a set $X$ of "empirical" points, whose coordinates are perturbed by errors, we analyze whether it contains redundant information, that is whether some of its elements could be represented by a single equivalent point.

Thin film growth by deposition of randomly shaped clusters [PDF]
We have investigated the growth of a porous thin surface film by deposition of randomly shaped clusters with different sizes over an initially flat linear substrate in (1 + 1) dimensions. In analogy with the ballistic deposition process, our approach results in aggregation of clusters with a porous bulk and a rough surface that obeys the Family-Vicsek ...

ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Pair correlation functions and limiting distributions of iterated cluster point processes
We consider a Markov chain of point processes such that each state is a super position of an independent cluster process with the previous state as its centre process together with some independent noise process.
