A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

On clustering with discounts

open access: yesInformation Processing Letters, 2022
We study the $k$-median with discounts problem, wherein we are given clients with non-negative discounts and seek to open at most $k$ facilities. The goal is to minimize the sum of distances from each client to its nearest open facility which is discounted by its own discount value, with minimum contribution being zero.

Making successful virtual clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Improving competitiveness through the support of regional clusters is a common ingredient of industrial policy in many countries. Can we get the same benefits through virtual clusters? This was a core question in this research.

Rainfall zoning of Bahia State, Brazil: an update proposal

open access: yesRevista Ambiente & Água, 2018
The state of Bahia’s main climatic characteristic is the high spatial and chronological variability of precipitation. This heterogeneity may be used to determine of pluviometrically homogeneous areas that can define mesoregions in the state, since they ...

Statistical Properties of X-Ray Clusters: Analytic and Numerical Comparisons [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We compare the results of Eulerian hydrodynamic simulations of cluster formation against virial scaling relations between four bulk quantities: the cluster mass, the dark matter velocity dispersion, the gas temperature, and the cluster luminosity.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
