Robust Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy: Optimal Design of Magnetic Devices Considering Material Variation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Uncertainties caused by material variation can significantly impair the characteristics of devices. Therefore, it is important to design devices whose performance is not significantly damaged even when material variations occur. Robust optimization seeks

Bifunctional Surfaces With Immobilized Antibodies and Bioactive Peptides Mediate Selective Capture and Proliferation of Endothelial Colony‐Forming Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A tunable bifunctional surface is developed by combining Fc‐binding peptides and RGD motifs to present oriented antibodies alongside integrin‐mediated signaling. The platform selectively captures endothelial colony‐forming cells while promoting their adhesion and proliferation.

Large-Scale Evolutionary Strategy Based on Gradient Approximation

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
For large-scale optimization, CMA-ES has the disadvantages of high complexity and premature stagnation. An improved CMA-ES algorithm called GI-ES was proposed in this paper.

Cell Cycle Control of Nuclear Metabolism Couples Phosphatidylinositol Signaling to Histone Methylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear metabolism oscillates during cell cycle progression. Quantitative chromatome proteomics and imaging reveal phase‐specific dynamics of PIP5K1A and nuclear PIP2, linking phosphatidylinositol metabolism to histone methylation. This work identifies nuclear lipid metabolism as a previously unrecognized regulatory axis coordinating chromatin ...

On the Effect of Mirroring in the IPOP Active CMA-ES on the Noiseless BBOB Testbed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceMirrored mutations and active covariance matrix adaptation are two recent ideas to improve the well-known covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (CMA-ES)---a state-of-the-art algorithm for numerical optimization.

Improved Systemic Immunochemotherapy Employing an Oxaliplatin‐TLR7/8 Agonist Prodrug Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A platinum(IV) prodrug is developed to systemically deliver the TLR7/8 agonist gardiquimod. Tumor‐targeting is mediated by an albumin‐binding maleimide, which limits premature complex activation. Ox‐Gardi‐Mal accumulates specifically in the tumor, where it activates the immune system.

NUP85 Mediates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress through the USP47/ASK1 Signaling Pathway to Regulate the Progression of Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the present study, we have demonstrated that the NUP85‐USP47‐ASK1 signaling pathway may have regulated the progression of liver fibrosis through modulating ERS. Additionally, we have developed a CREKA‐coupled liposome to target delivery of MV, a pharmacological inhibitor of NUP85, to activated HSCs, thereby attenuating liver fibrosis. ABSTRACT Liver
