Microstructural damage of thermal barrier coatings due to CMAS [PDF]
Over recent years, due to a constant desire for higher efficiency engines and hence increased turbine entry temperatures and a proportional reduction in [Carbon dioxide] emissions, there is a need to understand how molten slags (CMAS: Calcia magnesia ...

Failure and Protection of Thermal Barrier Coating under CMAS Attack
Along with the increase of operating temperature of aero-engine, thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) used in the engine are highly susceptible to the attack of glassy silicate deposits, the chemical composition of which is mostly CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CMAS ...

The population size, i.e., the number of candidate solutions generated at each iteration, is the most critical strategy parameter in the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy, CMA-ES, which is one of the state-of-the-art search algorithms for black-box continuous optimization.

CMAS corrosion of EB PVD TBCs: Identifying the minimum level to initiate damage [PDF]
Over the last decade a significant amount of research has been conducted into the durability of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) focusing mainly on issues of oxidation, erosion and foreign object damage (FOD). However, as the performance and durability

I have concerns about the CMA's guidelines on determining medical fitness to drive.[1][1] All Canadian provinces and territories currently use the medical standards produced by the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA)[2][2] to determine the medical fitness of drivers.

Further development of the Children’s Mathematics Anxiety Scale UK (CMAS-UK) for ages 4–7 years [PDF]
There are currently many mathematics anxiety rating scales designed typically for adult and older children populations, yet there remains a lack of assessment tools for younger children ( 0.45) and high internal consistency (α = 0.88).

The cutting movement assessment score (CMAS) qualitative screening tool: application to mitigate anterior cruciate ligament injury risk during cutting [PDF]
Side-step cutting is an action associated with non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury with a plethora of negative economical, health, and psychological implications.

Adaptiveness of CMA based samplers
We turn the Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy into an adaptive Markov Chain Monte Carlo (or MCMC) sampling algorithm that adapts online to the target distribution, i.e. the distribution to be sampled from. We call the resulting algorithm CMA-Sampling.

Non-destructive detection of CMAS damage on thermal barrier coatings using AC impedance technique
Thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on high temperature components in gas turbine engines are in some cases damaged by calcium-magnesium-alumino-silicates (CMAS) resulting from the ingestion of siliceous minerals at high temperatures exceeding 1200°C.
