Mutasynthesis and Antibiotic Activity of Mupirocin Analogues

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
A mutasynthetic strategy was developed to prepare pseudomonic acid analogues, and their antimicrobial activities were evaluated against five bacterial strains. Feeding studies with mutant strains of Pseudomonas fluorescens revealed that C7‐desepoxy‐PA‐B was metabolised to C7‐PA‐C with loss of the 8‐hydroxyl group, but no fatty acid chain extension ...

Palmitic Acid Promotes Antiviral Innate Immunity via ZDHHC20‐Mediated CMPK2 Palmitoylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
Metabolites have important functions in innate immune activation and regulation. Wang et al. uncover metabolic regulation of antiviral immunity through CMPK2 palmitoylation, which regulates CMPK2 mitochondrial localization and is promoted by ZDHHC20 but reversed by PPT1, inhibition of which antagonizes viral infection in mice.

Hepatic Glycogen Storage Diseases in Brazil: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 7, Page 1591-1600, July 2026.
ABSTRACT To describe clinical and laboratory characteristics, emphasizing the evolution of patients with hepatic glycogen storage diseases (GSDs) followed in Brazilian reference centers. Multicenter, retrospective study involving 13 centers, using RedCap platform. 132 patients were included: 63 (47.8%) GSD type I (56 Ia, 7 Ib), 13 (9.8%) with type III (

Emerging research directions in nanoparticle‐based foam control for bioprocessing: a bibliometric approach

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 1708-1728, July/August 2026.
Abstract Overfoaming remains a critical challenge in industrial bioprocesses, compromising mass transfer, operational stability, and downstream efficiency in bioreactors and wastewater treatment systems. This study provides a bibliometric and scientometric assessment of nanoparticle‐enabled foam control to map technological trends and identify research

A Novel Laboratorial Approach to Evaluate Bacterial Microleakage of Endodontic Sealers

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract To avoid failure of endodontic treatment, it is important to properly seal the root canals after chemomechanical preparation in order to avoid microleakage. Typically, sealing involves the use of gutta‐percha and sealing cement, the latter of which adheres to the dentin and fills the spaces between the gutta‐percha and the dentin walls ...
