DOA estimation with k-times extended co-prime arrays

2017 51st Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2017
Sparse arrays such as co-prime arrays, nested arrays and minimum redundancy arrays (MRAs) can achieve larger number of degrees-of-freedom (DoFs) with fewer sensors by exploring their difference co-arrays. Co-prime arrays become more attractive, as there exist no exact expressions of MRA configurations for an arbitrary number of sensors and the nested ...

Performance breakdown in parameter estimation using co-prime arrays

2015 49th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2015
In this paper, we study threshold effects associated with swapping of signal and noise subspaces in estimating signal parameters from co-prime arrays. A subspace swap occurs when the measured data is better approximated by a subset of components of an orthogonal subspace than by the components of the noise-free signal subspace, and is known to be the ...

DOA estimation with co-prime arrays in the presence of mutual coupling

2015 23rd European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2015
In this paper, we present a method for performing direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation using co-prime arrays in the presence of mutual coupling. The effects of mutual coupling are first examined for extended co-prime arrays configurations using the Receiving-Mutual-Impedance Method (RMIM).

Particle Filter Algorithm for DOA Tracking Using Co-Prime Array

IEEE Communications Letters, 2020
In this letter, the problem of direction of arrival (DOA) tracking using co-prime array is studied. A novel particle filter (PF)-based DOA tracking algorithm is proposed to recursively estimate the DOAs based on the measurement model and the state transition model. A modified likelihood function model based on the propagator method (PM) pseudo-spectrum

Direction of Arrived Estimation Based on the Co-Prime Arrays

2015 Fourth International Conference on Information Science and Industrial Applications (ISI), 2015
In this paper, we study the co-prime arrays structure, and two kinds of DOA (Direction Of Arrival) algorithms are analyzed based on the structure, including spatial smoothing MUSIC and compressed sensing algorithm. Compared with traditional MUSIC algorithm, these two algorithms can decorrelate the incoming coherent interface signals while the ...

Multitapered power spectral density estimation for co-prime sensor arrays

2015 49th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2015
Thomson's multitaper method reduces the variance of power spectral density (PSD) estimates by averaging measurements weighted by orthogonal tapers at the expense of resolution. Co-prime sensing arrays match the resolution of a uniform linear array using fewer sensors by coherently combining interleaved spatially under-sampled subarrays for spatial PSD ...

Continuous sparse recovery for direction of arrival estimation with co-prime arrays

2014 IEEE 8th Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop (SAM), 2014
We consider the problem of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using a newly proposed structure of co-prime arrays. A continuous sparse recovery method is implemented in order to increase resolution. We show that in the noiseless case one can theoretically detect up to MN/2 sources with only 2M+N sensors via continuous sparse recovery.

Investigating Co-Prime Microphone Arrays for Speech Direction of Arrival Estimation

2018 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC), 2018
This paper investigates the application of the steered response power - phase transform (SRP-PHAT) method to coprime microphone array (CPMA) recordings to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of speech sources. While existing CPMA approaches for acoustics applications are limited, especially under reverberant conditions, the proposed algorithm ...

Pseudo-beam-Forming for Direction-of-Arrival Estimation with Difference Co-array of Co-prime Array

Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 2018
This paper focuses on direction finding using a co-prime array from the view of a difference co-array. According to the corresponding relationship between the correlation lag and virtual element position of the difference co-array, from the correlation matrix of the co-prime array, the desired correlation units are extracted as single-snapshot data of ...
