Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Resolved Dust Emission and CO Isotopologues in Giant Molecular Clouds of the Andromeda Galaxy

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Dust emission at submillimeter wavelengths can be used to reliably trace the basic properties of molecular clouds. Early results from a recent Submillimeter Array (SMA) survey of the Andromeda galaxy (M31) include the first detections of resolved dust ...

Sparse DOA Estimation Algorithm Based on Fourth-Order Cumulants Vector Exploiting Restricted Non-Uniform Linear Array

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Non-uniform linear array (NLA) has been widely used in the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation owing to its significant advantage of effectively expanding array aperture.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Low-Complexity Direction-of-Arrival Estimation Based on Wideband Co-Prime Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A class of low-complexity compressive sensing-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation methods for wideband co-prime arrays is proposed. It is based on a recently proposed narrowband estimation method, where a virtual array model is generated by ...

Type I-F CRISPR-Cas Distribution and Array Dynamics in Legionella pneumophila

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2020
In bacteria and archaea, several distinct types of CRISPR-Cas systems provide adaptive immunity through broadly similar mechanisms: short nucleic acid sequences derived from foreign DNA, known as spacers, engage in complementary base pairing with ...
