Plasma Technology for CO2 Conversion: A Personal Perspective on Prospects and Gaps

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2020
There is increasing interest in plasma technology for CO2 conversion because it can operate at mild conditions and it can store fluctuating renewable electricity into value-added compounds and renewable fuels.

CO2 conversion promoted by potassium intercalated g-C3N4 catalyst in DBD plasma system

open access: yes, 2021
The direct conversion of CO2 to CO and O2 has attracted extensive attention as CO is a key C1 feedstock for chemical synthesis. The CO2 conversion promoted by γ-Al2O3 supported potassium intercalated g-C3N4 (KuCN/AO) catalyst in a packed-bed dielectric ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Modeling and Electrical Characterization of CO₂/Ar Dielectric Barrier Discharges at Atmospheric Pressure

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis
In this study, a one-dimensional fluid model is employed to analyze the electrical and physicochemical properties of dielectric barrier discharges (DBDs) in pure CO₂ and CO₂/Ar mixtures at atmospheric pressure.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 to CO over Transition Metal/N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts: The Active Sites and Reaction Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2021
Electrochemical CO2 reduction to value‐added chemicals/fuels provides a promising way to mitigate CO2 emission and alleviate energy shortage. CO2‐to‐CO conversion involves only two‐electron/proton transfer and thus is kinetically fast.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Green ionic metal-organic frameworks as nanocatalysts for CO2 fixation

open access: yesNano Research
Co, Ni, and Zn iso-reticular coordination polymers of 2,5-dihydroxyterphthalic acid (H2dot) can be rapidly obtained under room temperature and aqueous conditions using either sodium or ammonium hydroxide as the bases to deprotonate the linker. The use of

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Black In2O3−x nanosheets for efficient solar-driven reverse water-gas shift reaction

open access: yesNano Research
Increasing the number of surface-active sites and light-harvesting capability of catalysts by regulating their electronic structures is critical for solar-driven reactions. Herein, we report an oxygen-defective rich catalyst, black In2O3−x nanosheets, as
