Stability, Adsorption and Diffusion of CH4, CO2 and H2 in Clathrate Hydrates

open access: yes, 2010
We present a study of the adsorption and diffusion of CH4, CO2 and H2 molecules in clathrate hydrates using ab initio van der Waals density functional formalism [Dion et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 92, 246401 (2004)].

Molecular simulation study of CO2 and O2 adsorption characteristics and diffusion pattern in coal body at atmospheric pressure

open access: yes矿业科学学报
In order to investigate the adsorption characteristics and diffusion law of CO2 and O2 in coal, the adsorption and diffusion processes of CO2 and O2 in coal at different molar ratios, temperatures and pressures were simulated using the grand canonical ...

Fine tuning CO2 adsorption and diffusion behaviors in ultra-microporous carbons for favorable CO2 capture at moderate temperature

open access: yesSustainable Chemistry for Climate Action, 2023
CO2 capture from flue gas is one of the global urgent tasks. Adsorption separation of CO2 is an energy-efficient way as compared to the absorption method.

CO2 Capture Partner Molecules in Highly Loaded PEI Sorbents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Decoupling amine loading from diffusion resistance is one of the main challenges in the development of immobilised amines CO2 sorbents. Water has been reported to serve this goal alleviating CO2 diffusional hindrance in highly loaded amine sorbents ...

Diffusion of dissolved CO2 in caprock

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2009
AbstractDiffusion of dissolved CO2 is a possible transport mechanism in caprocks which should be evaluated precisely for long term storage of CO2. It is also a mechanism controlling the caprock geochemical reactivity in the vicinity of the top of the storage where CO2 accumulates driven by gravity.

Transport Mechanisms for CO2-CH4 Exchange and Safe CO2 Storage in Hydrate-Bearing Sandstone

open access: yesEnergies, 2015
CO2 injection in hydrate-bearing sediments induces methane (CH4) production while benefitting from CO2 storage, as demonstrated in both core and field scale studies.

Use of nanoporous ceramic membranes for carbon dioxide separation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Natural gas processes accounts for about 5.3 billion tonnes per year of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission to the atmosphere. At this rate of emission, the expectation will drastically rise if not curtailed.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Temperature and pressure dependencies of diffusion coefficient of carbon dioxide in ionic liquids

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology
In this study, the diffusion coefficients of carbon dioxide (CO2) in ionic liquids were experimentally measured using the phase-shifting interferometer.
