Design of CO2 hydrogenation catalysts based on phosphane/borane frustrated Lewis pairs and xanthene-derived scaffolds

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2022
New naphtho[2,1,8,7-klmn]xanthene and benzo[kl]xanthene-based intramolecular phosphane–borane frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs) were investigated in catalyzed H2 activation and CO2 hydrogenation processes.

Enhanced methanol production by two-stage reaction of CO2 hydrogenation at atmospheric pressure

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2022
Methanol can be produced from CO2 hydrogenation. CO2 was hydrogenated to CH3OH in one-stage reaction at atmospheric pressure. The result was highly selective to CH3OH but insufficient conversion of CO2 using Cu/Zn/Al2O3.

Recent advances in carbon-based catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation toward circular economy

open access: yesCarbon Capture Science & Technology
Thermo-catalytic CO2 hydrogenation with renewable energy-powered green H2 is one of the most promising approaches for simultaneously producing fuels and chemicals (i.e., syngas, alcohol, and olefins,) and achieve a circular carbon economy.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
