CO2 Recycling to Dimethyl Ether: State-of-the-Art and Perspectives

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
This review reports recent achievements in dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis via CO2 hydrogenation. This gas-phase process could be considered as a promising alternative for carbon dioxide recycling toward a (bio)fuel as DME. In this view, the production of

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Reaction mechanism and structure-activity relationships of bimetallic catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol under vapor and liquid phase processes

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization
Under the global context of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), coupling CO2 with green hydrogen to synthesize green methanol at low temperature has become the development trend of this field.

Noble metal nanoparticles and nanodiamond modified strontium titanate photocatalysts for room temperature CO production from direct hydrogenation of CO2

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization, 2023
The activation and conversion of CO2 can be achieved on multifunctional catalytic sites at the metal/oxide interface by taking advantage of the synergy between noble metal nanoparticles and supports. Herein, sequential deposition of noble metals (Ru, Rh,

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

In-situ hydrogenation of dual function material for integrated CO2 capture and methanation with the presence of steam

open access: yesCarbon Capture Science & Technology
The impacts of steam on hydrogenation of dual function materials (DFM) for Integrated CO2 Capture and in-situ methanation (ICCM) is a new area requiring detailed investigations prior to industrialization.

Optimizing reaction paths for methanol synthesis from CO2 hydrogenation via metal-ligand cooperativity

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Controlling the reaction path is instrumental for developing efficient catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation. Here, the authors report that the ensemble of Pt single atoms coordinated with oxygen atoms in MIL-101 induces distinct reaction path to improve ...
