EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Separation and storage of CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010

open access: yes, 2017
InfraRed Multi-Photon Dissociation (IRMPD) is a highly selective laser isotope separation technique. This process consists of a sequential IR photon absorption from the ground vibrational state up to dissociation by a molecule that contains the isotope ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Investigation of supercritical water processing of biomass : study of high pressure separation [PDF]

open access: yes
Dissertation supervisor: Prof. William A. Jacoby.Includes vita.Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases such as CO2, CH4, NOx, and SOx. CO2 makes up about 80% (by mass) of greenhouse gas emitted by human activities.

Implementation strategies for hyperspectral unmixing using Bayesian source separation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Bayesian Positive Source Separation (BPSS) is a useful unsupervised approach for hyperspectral data unmixing, where numerical non-negativity of spectra and abundances has to be ensured, such in remote sensing.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Supported ionic liquids as highly efficient and low-cost material for CO2/CH4 separation process

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Physical immobilization of ionic liquids (ILs) in solid materials appears as an interesting strategy for the development of new sorbents for CO2 separation from natural gas.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
