Coal Analysis by Nuclear Methods

The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1983
The paper reviews the use of low-energy x-rays, γ-rays and neutron interaction techniques for coal analysis in applications which range from borehole logging to on-line analysis in coal preparation plants and in coal-burning power stations. Neutron-induced prompt γ-ray analysis provides an exciting prospect for the future as it allows direct on-line ...

Elemental analysis of coal and coal ASH by PIXE technique

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2012
Coal and coal ash samples were characterized by particle induced X-ray emission spectroscopic technique. Sixteen elements, namely K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, As, Rb, Sr, Y and Pb were quantified in this study. Elements like K, Ca, Ti and Fe were present as major elements, whereas, other elements like V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Rb,
