Application of Coal Mechanics in Coal and Gas Outbursts
2021Coal and gas outbursts are geological failures that occur in underground drainage or mining, and consist of the ejection of thousands of coal/rock pieces and a considerable amount of gas into a limited working space within a short period.

Prediction of the Coal and Gas Outburst by Neural Network
2009 Second International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Design, 2009Back-propagation neural network model was developed to predict the coal and gas outburst. After trained, the artificial neural network model was used to predict the coal and gas outburst of several samples. Moreover, ANN model was also used to analyse the quantitative effects of influencing factors on the coal and gas outburst.

The Power Source for Coal and Gas Outburst
Journal of Mining Science, 2019The experiments were carried out connected with nitrogen adsorption on coal samples. The aim was to find out the power source for coal and gas outburst. The experimental data were fitted by the function of f(x)=axb. The total volume of micropores and the degree of micropore volume filled by nitrogen were calculated by the Dubinin-Radushkevich equation.

Expansion energy of coal gas for the initiation of coal and gas outbursts
Fuel, 2019Abstract The study of coal and gas outburst mechanisms is necessary for the safety and efficiency in mining. Gas expansion energy is a major factor in outburst initiation. However, the amount of coal gas participating in outburst initiation is hard to estimate. In this study, considering the effect of coal damage and the environmental pressure change

Gas emission under coal and gas outbursts
Journal of Mining Science, 2011The paper considers the conditions of methane hydrate existence in coal seams. The authors estimate volumes of gas emission in a fractured coal layer upon a drop in gas pressure. The authors also give the assessment of outburst hazard of coal seam edge zone.

A mechanism of outbursts of coal and gas
Mining Science and Technology, 1984Abstract Rock and gas pressures combine to cause outbursts of coal and gas. The actions and interactions of geological factors, mining factors and intermediary events during the phenomenon are described.

The role of coal strength in coal and gas outbursts
Physics of FluidsCoal strength is one of essential factor influencing the occurrence of coal and gas outbursts (CGOs). In order to explore the laws of CGOs, simulation tests with different coal strengths were carried out under a self-developed CGO device. The results show that as the coal strength increases, the relative outburst strength decreases.

Simulation of coal and gas outbursts in outburst-prone zones of coal seam
The problem of mining safety in outburst-prone coal seams has not yet been ful-ly studied and resolved, so research related to outbursts continues to be relevant for many coal-mining countries. The purpose of this work is to study the coupled pro-cesses of elastoplastic deformation of a coal seam, methane filtration and desorption, which occur in the ...Viktoriia Krukovska +1 more

Study on the intensity of coal and gas outburst
2004The indexes of forecasting coal and gas outburst intensity are presented according to the spherical shell losing stability theory about outburst mechanism. In laboratory, outburst simulated tests have been carried out for many times. And the linear equation which can be used to forecast outburst intensity has been established by means of pluralistic ...
