Droplets at Liquid-Fluid Interfaces: Stages Leading to Coalescence
Droplet coalescence at interfaces affects industrial and natural processes. Previous studies focused on droplet stability and thin film drainage. We use meticulous experiments to infer the evolution of coalescence for both ascending and descending ...

Chiral Recognition of Carboxylate Anions by (R)-BINOL-Based Macrocyclic Receptors
Three (R)-BINOL-based macrocyclic receptors obtained via double-amidation reaction were used for chiral recognition of four anions derived from α-hydroxy and α-amino acids.

The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

Kinetics of Coalescence, Annihilation, and the q-State Potts Model in One Dimension
The kinetics of the q-state Potts model in the zero temperature limit in one dimension is analyzed exactly through a generalization of the method of empty intervals, previously used for the analysis of diffusion-limited coalescence, A+A->A.

Coalescence of Magnetic Flux Ropes Within Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections: Multi-cases Studies
Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are intense solar explosive eruptions and have significant impact on geomagnetic activities. It is important to understand how CMEs evolve as they propagate in the solar-terrestrial space.

A new class of living liquid metal composites is introduced, embedding Bacillus subtilis endospores into eutectic gallium–indium (EGaIn). The spores enhance droplet coalescence, strengthen interfacial conductivity, and provide on‐demand electrogenic functionality after germination. The composites exhibit high conductivity, self‐healing, patternability,

We investigate the expected gravitational wave emission from coalescing supermassive black hole (SMBH) binaries resulting from mergers of their host galaxies. When galaxies merge, the SMBHs in the host galaxies sink to the center of the new merged galaxy

Polyferrocene block copolymers are synthesized and assembled into micron‐sized polymer cubosomes with double diamond lattice and pore diameter of ≈30 nm. The ferrocene functionality is retained within the polymer cubosome wall as demonstrated on supramolecular modification, and oxidative disassembly.

(Anti-)deuteron production and anisotropic flow measured with ALICE at the LHC
The high abundance of (anti-)deuterons in the statistics gathered in Run 1 of the LHC and the excellent performance of the ALICE setup allow for the simultaneous measurement of the elliptic flow and the deuteron production rates with a large transverse ...
