Power, Cooperation Indices and Coalition Structures

open access: yes, 2001
The developments over a thirty-year time span in the study of power, especially voting power, are traced in this book, which provides an up-to-date overview of applications of n-person game theory to the study of power in multimember bodies. Other theories that shed light on power distribution (e.g. aggregation theory) are treated as well.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Lexicographic Preferences Similarity for Coalition Formation in Complex Markets: Introducing PLPSim, HRECS, ContractLex, PriceLex, F@Lex, and PLPGen

open access: yesInformation
Lexicographic preference trees (LP-Trees) provide a compact and expressive representation for modeling complex decision-making scenarios, yet measuring similarity between complete or partial structures remains a challenge. This study introduces PLPSim, a

Changing Patterns of Factionalism in Indonesia: From Principle to Patronage

open access: yesJournal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs, 2020
Party politics in Indonesia’s current democratic regime takes place within the parameters of a heavily fragmented multi-party system. Factionalism exists in most parties, but the influence of factions on internal party dynamics is only weak to moderate ...

Absorbing Sets in Coalitional Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
The purpose of this paper is twofold: First, to present an approach and a solution for analyzing the stability of coalition structures: We define a coalitional system (a set and a binary relation on that set) that explains the transitions between ...

Coalition Lattice: A Data Structure considering Robustness for Robust Coalition Structure Generation Problem

open access: yesThe Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Industrial Application Engineering 2015, 2015
Forming effective coalitions is a major problem in multiagent systems. Coalition structure generation (CSG) involves partitioning a set of agents into teams, i.e. coalitions. The set of coalitions is a coalition structure. In the context of the CSG research, our goal is forming the coalition structure that maximizes the social surplus.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Coalition Formation among Farsighted Agents [PDF]

open access: yes
A set of coalition structures P is farsightedly stable (i) if all possible deviations from any coalition structure p belonging to P to a coalition structure outside P are deterred by the threat of ending worse off or equally well off, (ii) if there ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
