Loads Transfer Principles of Coaxial Helicopter Rotors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Helicopter Society, 2023
The load transfer principles of coaxial rotors are analyzed from a theoretical point of view. The theoretical expressions of hub forces and moments are derived by summing the Fourier series of the root forces and moments from all the blades of a coaxial rotor system with the assumption that the rotor loads are identical between the two rotors.

A hybrid trim strategy for coaxial compound helicopter

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2022
Interest in the coaxial compound helicopter (CCH) has been increasing in the civil aviation and engineering community for its high-speed and high-maneuverability features, and is likely to continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Since the control in CCH is totally different from the conventional helicopter, the redundant control strategy design ...

Design and Control of an Indoor Coaxial Helicopter [PDF]

open access: yes2006 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2006
This paper presents the design and preliminary control of an indoor coaxial helicopter "CoaX" based on a concept of hybrid active and passive control. The robot is capable of passive roll and pitch stabilization against small disturbances while actively stabilizing the yaw and the altitude.

Generating a Statistically Constrained Quaternary Model of a Buried Bedrock Valley Using FDEM. [PDF]

open access: yesGround Water
Abstract An airborne electromagnetic (AEM) survey was conducted using the Resolve™ frequency‐domain system over a buried bedrock valley near Elora, Ontario, Canada. A statistical bootstrapping approach was used to establish a relationship between the electrical resistivity from spatially interpolated one‐dimensional AEM resistivity models and the ...

Drag Characteristics and Reduction Test for Hub of Coaxial-rotor Helicopter

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan, 2020
The drag of coaxial helicopter hub accounts is more than 50% of the total helicopter's waste drag, so it is necessary to research the drag characteristics and reduction design of the hub. Wind tunnel test is carried out for a coaxial helicopter hub model,

A comparison of coaxial and conventional rotor performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The performance of a coaxial rotor in hover, in steady forward flight, and in level, coordinated turns is contrasted with that of an equivalent, conventional rotor with the same overall solidity, number of blades, and blade aerodynamic properties.
