Gene‐Informed Modeling of Denitrification Process in Groundwater Through Dynamic Flux Balance Analysis and Deep Learning

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We introduce two gene‐informed approaches that, for the first time, explicitly incorporate microbial genomic information into groundwater denitrification simulations. First, we couple the dynamic flux balance analysis (DFBA, which resolves genome‐resolved metabolic networks) with the PFLOTRAN reactive transport model (RTM).

Rotorcraft flight research with emphasis on rotor systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Over fifty years of contributions by NASA and the Army through rotor systems flight research were examined with an emphasis on the last 25 years. During this time, the helicopter has gone from an abnormality that did a few useful things to a vehicle that

The handling of missing data in molecular epidemiologic studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Background: Molecular epidemiologic studies face a missing data problem as biospecimen data are often collected on only a proportion of subjects eligible for study. Methods: We investigated all molecular epidemiologic studies published in CEBP in 2009 to

Formulating Cognitive Functioning to Guide Personalised Treatment for People Diagnosed With Mental Disorders

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 573-587, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Objective and subjective cognitive impairment are highly prevalent in mental disorders and transdiagnostic phenomena. Cognitive impairment is associated with poorer functional outcomes and therefore requires treatment, but little guidance is available for clinicians.

Calibration of an InP-Based Monolithically Integrated Optical Pulse Shaper

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2013
We present the calibration method and characterization of a monolithically integrated semiconductor optical pulse shaper. The photonic integrated circuit has been realized in an InP-based generic photonic foundry process.

The Assessment of the Degree of Concordance Between the Observed Values and the Predicted Values of a Mixed-Effect Model Using “Method of Comparison” Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we present a methodology for determining the degree of concordance between observed and model-based predicted values of a mixed-effect model.

Neural Correlates of Cognitive Improvement After Virtual Reality‐Based Cognitive Remediation in Psychosis and Mood Disorders: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 553-562, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment in mood disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders hampers patients' clinical and functional outcomes. A key challenge in pro‐cognitive treatment development is the limited insight into the underlying neurocircuitry correlates of cognitive changes.

A Simple Method to Estimate the Time-dependent ROC Curve Under Right Censoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The time-dependent Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve is often used to study the diagnostic accuracy of a single continuous biomarker, measured at baseline, on the onset of a disease condition when the disease onset may occur at different ...

Predicting Cognitive Change During Treatment for Inpatient Depression: Secondary Analysis From a Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 563-572, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Individuals hospitalized with depression are particularly impacted by cognitive impairment. Identifying variables that predict improvements in cognition across treatment may inform more targeted and effective treatment approaches. We conducted secondary analyses to investigate baseline predictors of objective cognitive change in a
