Isomers of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) may complicate valid and defensible confirmatory analysis in forensic toxicology. This article presents a multi‐analyte liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry method involving the separation of THC isomers in addition to other commonly encountered drugs and metabolites.

ARRHYTHMOGENIC EFFECTS OF COCAETHYLENE IN ALCOHOL AND COCAINE USERS
Cocaine and ethanol are two most commonly used recreational drugs in United States. Animal studies have shown that combining cocaine and alcohol produces a cardiotoxic metabolite known as cocaethylene, which is more arrhythmogenic than either of them alone.

We examined the behavioral and neurochemical effects of cocaethylene treatment in Long–Evans ( LE). and Sprague–Dawley (SD) rats. Cocaethylene-induced behaviors were significantly less in LE rats.

We selected three practices, which claimed to be effective in decreasing drug concentrations in hair. Quantitative results were compared with those of untreated hair strands, used as reference. We evaluated the efficacy of the treatment on drugs of abuse and benzodiazepines.
