Efficacy of botanical formulations against coconut rhinoceros beetle oryctes rhinoceros

Indian Journal of Entomology, 2022
Field efficacy of botanical cakes and insecticides when evaluated in coconut against the rhinoceros beetle Oryctes rhiniceros L., revealed that leaf damage reduced to 9.5% with botanical cake and paste. Palms treated with chlorantraniliprole 0.4% GR (10.5%) and neem cake admixed with sand (11.5%) were also effective compared to control (40.0%) at 30 ...

A mathematical model of invasion and control of coconut rhinoceros beetle Oryctes rhinoceros (L.) in Guam

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2023
The coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB), is one of the most damaging pests to coconut palms causing severe economic harm. Its expansion from Asia to the Pacific in the early 20th century has been stopped by virus control. However, a new haplotype CRB-Guam has recently escaped this control and invaded Guam, other Pacific islands, and has even established ...

The epizootiology of the baculovirus of the coconut palm rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros) in Tonga

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1981
Abstract The incidence and distribution of the baculovirus of the coconut palm rhinoceros beetle was determined in Tongatapu, Tonga, 7 years after being first introduced. Surveys showed the virus to be spread throughout the beetle population, affecting 14.6% of breeding sites and over 84% of all adult beetles taken.
