Cocrystallization out of the blue: dl-mandelic acid/ethyl-dl-mandelate cocrystal

Journal of Molecular Structure, 2017
This work focuses on a peculiar behavior of racemic mandelic acid in ethanol solution. Dissolution of racemic mandelic acid in ethanol followed by evaporation to dryness results in a DL-mandelic acid/ethyl-DL-mandelate cocrystal. This behavior indicates that racemic mandelic acid tends not only to transform into an ester in ethanol, but also to ...

Structure of porcine insulin cocrystallized with clupeine Z

Acta Crystallographica Section B Structural Science, 1991
The crystal structure of NPH-insulin, pig insulin cocrystallized with zinc, m-cresol and protamine, has been solved by molecular replacement and refined using restrained least-squares refinement methods. The final crystallographic R factor for all reflections between 2 and 10 A is 19.4%.

Perchlorate-Free Energetic Oxidizers Enabled by Ionic Cocrystallization

Journal of the American Chemical Society
The search for a suitable replacement for the ubiquitous oxidizer ammonium perchlorate (AP) is a top priority to enable more sustainable solid rocket motors. The oxidizing salts ammonium nitrate (AN) and ammonium dinitramide (ADN) are regarded as potential green replacements for AP, but suffer from a plethora of handling and processing issues including

Cocrystallization of Brucine with Perfluorinated Iodobenzenes

Halogen bonding can be achieved with a wide range of potential acceptor atoms (N, O, S, halogenide, P, As, Sb etc.), the majority of halogen bonded crystal structures to date include nitrogen and oxygen as the halogen bond acceptor. [1] Polycyclic alkaloids often have multiple inequivalent nitrogen and oxygen atoms that can act as potential halogen ...
