PEMBUATAN DAN MODIFIKASI KARBON AKTIF PELEPAH KELAPA SAWIT (Cocus nucifera L.) SEBAGAI ADSORBEN METILEN BIRU (PREPARATION AND MODIFICATION OF ACTIVATED CARBON FROM PALM OIL (Cocus nucifera L.) AS ADSORBENT OF BLUE METHYLENE)

Indonesian Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2021
The methylene blue dye adsorbed by activated carbon from oil palm fronds modified with H2SO4 has been carried out. This study aims to utilize activated carbon from palm oil frond waste (Cocus nucifera L.) as an adsorbent to adsorb toxic methylene blue dye in textile industrial wastewater.

Biosensing hydrogen peroxide utilizing carbon paste electrodes containing peroxidases naturally immobilized on coconut (Cocus nucifera L.) fibers

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2007
A novel unmediated hydrogen peroxide biosensor based on the incorporation of fibrous tissue of coconut fruit in carbon paste matrix is presented. Cyclic voltammetry and amperometry were utilized to characterize the main electrochemical parameters and the performance of this new biosensor under different preparation and operation conditions.

Improvement of Mechanical Properties of Coir Fiber (Cocus nucifera) with 2-Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate (HEMA) by Photocuring

Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2003
Coir fiber was cured under, ultraviolet radiation with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) in order to improve the mechanical properties with reduced water absorption character. A series of solutions of different HEMA concentrations in methanol, along with photoinitiator Irgacure 907, were prepared.
