Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Definition, implementation and validation of energy code smells: an exploratory study on an embedded system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Optimizing software in terms of energy efficiency is one of the challenges that both research and industry will have to face in the next few years. We consider energy efficiency as a software product quality characteristic, to be improved through the ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Rich Data Versus Quantity of Data in Code Generation AI: A Paradigm Shift for Healthcare

open access: yesBlockchain in Healthcare Today
In the context of Code Generation AI (Code Gen AI), “rich” and “quality” data refer to datasets that are not only syntactically and structurally sound but also context-aware, domain-specific, and semantically aligned with the target application.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

CODE – slutrapport [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2015
To get the right competence at the right time can often be crucial for a company. This competence can be of different types, e.g. data from a system or human knowledge related to a specific problem. The idea with CODE (Competence On DEmand) is to support
