LDPC Codes Over Rings for PSK Modulation [PDF]
This paper describes the design and analysis of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes over rings and shows how these codes, when mapped onto appropriate signal constellations, can be used to effect bandwidth-efficient modulation. Specifically, LDPC codes are constructed over the integer rings /spl Zopf//sub m/ and G/sub m//sup 2/ and mapped onto phase ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Decoding of
Many families of binary nonlinear codes (e.g., Kerdock, Goethals, Delsarte–Goethals, Preparata) can be very simply constructed from linear codes over the Z4 ring (ring of integers modulo 4), by applying the Gray map to the quaternary symbols. Generalized

Quantum Codes Obtained From Constacyclic Codes Over a Family of Finite Rings Fp[u₁, u₂, …, us]
In this article, we construct some MDS quantum error-correcting codes (QECCs) from classes of constacyclic codes over Rs = Fp + u1Fp + ··· + usFp, ui2 = ui, uiuj = ujui = 0, for odd prime p and i, j = 1, 2,⋯, s, i ≠ j ...

Polycyclic codes over Galois rings with applications to repeated-root constacyclic codes
Cyclic, negacyclic and constacyclic codes are part of a larger class of codes called polycyclic codes; namely, those codes which can be viewed as ideals of a factor ring of a polynomial ring.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Mass Formula for Self-Orthogonal and Self-Dual Codes over Non-Unital Rings of Order Four
We study the structure of self-orthogonal and self-dual codes over two non-unital rings of order four, namely, the commutative ring I=a,b|2a=2b=0,a2=b,ab=0 and the noncommutative ring E=a,b|2a=2b=0,a2=a,b2=b,ab=a,ba=b.

Further Results on Homogeneous Two-Weight Codes [PDF]
The results of [1,2] on linear homogeneous two-weight codes over finite Frobenius rings are exended in two ways: It is shown that certain non-projective two-weight codes give rise to strongly regular graphs in the way described in [1,2].

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Over finite local Frobenius non-chain rings of length 5 and nilpotency index 4 and when the length of the code is relatively prime to the characteristic of the residue field of the ring, the structure of the dual of γ-constacyclic codes is established ...
