The estimation method of anisotropy coefficient of shear wave velocities
SGEM International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference EXPO Proceedings, 2018© SGEM2018. Cross-dipole acoustic logging traditionally uses to study the anisotropy of the formation acoustic properties. The method is based on comparing the velocities of fast and slow shear waves and calculating the anisotropy coefficient. In the anisotropic formation, the flexural wave is splitting into two modes. The amplitude of cross-components

Anomalous anisotropy in the absorption coefficient of vacancy-ordered Ga2Se3
Journal of Electronic Materials, 1993The structural and optical properties of Ga2Se3 on (100)GaP and (100)GaAs prepared by molecular beam epitaxy have been investigated. The electron diffraction studies revealed that the superstructure was formed in [011] direction by the spontaneous ordering of native gallium-vacancies in the defect zinc blende structure under a selenium-rich growth ...

Anisotropy coefficient in 2d polydisperse model of composite structures
ECMS 2024 Proceedings edited by Daniel Grzonka, Natalia Rylko, Grazyna Suchacka, Vladimir MityushevThe article presents a mathematical model describing the coefficients related to the electrical conductivity of the varistor. Varistor’s conductivity is closely related to its microstructure, which consists of ZnO grains surrounded by an amorphous bismuth oxide layer, in- tergrain areas rich in reaction products between the varistor components, and ...

Evaluation of the normal anisotropy coefficient in AZ31 alloy sheets
Russian Metallurgy (Metally), 2009The Taylor-Bishop-Hill model of plastic deformation is used to determine the dependence of normal anisotropy coefficient R on angle α in the sheet plane (α = 0 in the rolling direction) from texture in the form of the coefficients of expansion of an orientation distribution function into a series in generalized spherical functions for AZ31 magnesium ...

Anisotropy of Effective Gas Diffusion Coefficients in Extruded Carbon Rods
Nature, 1955IT is well known that, in extruded cylindrical samples composed of either particles of amorphous carbon or graphitized carbon, the properties of thermal expansion, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity are highly anisotropic1. The anisotropy in these properties is caused by the orientation of the irregular particles with their long side ...

Anisotropy of Seebeck coefficient in Si/Ge composite quantum dots
Applied Physics Letters, 2016In this report, Si5Ge5 alloy and Si/Ge composite quantum dots (CQDs) layers were grown on Si substrates. Seebeck coefficient (S) of Si and Ge wafers, as well as these two samples, were patterned and measured from 60 to 180 °C in [110] and [010] directions. For Si, Ge, and Si5Ge5, the S of each is a constant in this temperature range.

The effect of anisotropy on the second virial coefficient of H2
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2000We have calculated the second virial coefficient B(T), including quantum corrections, from a pair potential for hydrogen recently developed from ab initio calculations. Previous comparisons with experimental second virial coefficients used an isotropic simplification of the potential.

Poisson coefficient of open cellular solids subject to structural anisotropy
Journal of Materials Science, 2008The Poisson coefficients of a 3D cellular solid are calculated as function of structure characteristics. A significant structural anisotropy is introduced by considering ellipsoid voids where their elongation and orientation are controlled using the random sequential addition (RSA) algorithm.

Anisotropy of quantum oscillations of the sound absorption coefficient in tin
Soviet Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1983A contactless method is used to investigate the quantum oscillations of the absorption coefficient for transverse sound with different polarizations in tin. A model is proposed, according to which the anisotropy of the observed oscillations is determined by the anisotropy of the conductivity of the metal in the plane perpendicular to the constant ...
