Coefficient of restitution and plastic strain for impact of elements welded with micro-jet cooling [PDF]

open access: yesTransport Problems, 2014
The main purpose of investigations is the qualification how post-accident repair of model car body parts influence on the value of coefficient of restitution.

Experimental determination of the coefficient of restitution

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract The aim of this study is to make an experimental determination of restitution coefficient during the clash between ball and stick in oina game. This study is made using a complex system for movement analysis named VICON, on 17 oina balls, that have different wear stages, in contact with two different sticks that have different ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Prediction of Coefficient of Restitution for Impact Elastoplastic Spheres Considering Finite Plate Thickness

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering
Collisions between objects are a relatively common phenomenon in nature. Analyses of collision processes can greatly contribute to solving problems such as impact-rub faults and particle impacts.

Impact Velocity and Coefficient of Restitution of a Table Tennis Ball

open access: yesInternational Scholastic Journal of Science, 2022
The impact of a table tennis ball upon a paddle was recorded using a high-speed camera. The effect of the ball’s initial impact velocity on its coefficient of restitution was determined for impact velocities ranging from 1.4 ms-1 to 20.2 ms-1.

Vibrational Effects on the Coefficient of Restitution

open access: yes, 2020
A ball dropped from a given height onto a surface, will bounce repeatedly before coming to rest. A ball bouncing on a thick plate will behave very differently than a ball bouncing off the thin lid of a container. For a plate with a fixed thickness, a ball bouncing at the edge of a plate will be very different from the ball bouncing off the middle of ...

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Relationship Between Neurologic Symptoms and Signs and FMR1 Genotype in Premutation Carriers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Fragile X‐associated Tremor/Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) is the most severe late‐onset condition caused by a premutation in the FMR1 gene, characterized by expanded CGG triplet repeats of 55–200. Clinical presentations of FXTAS, including gait ataxia, kinetic tremor, cognitive decline, and rare Parkinsonism, are linked to ...

GAD65 Antibody ELISA With Extended Reportable Range: Validation and Guidance for Neurological Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To (1) validate GAD65‐ELISA detection and quantification for type 1 diabetes mellitus and autoimmune neurological diagnoses, (2) correlate ELISA results (reference range < 5 IU/mL) with established radioimmunoprecipitation assay (RIA; ≤ 0.02 nmol/L), and (3) define ELISA clinical utility and pitfalls.

Air Pressure and the Coefficient of Restitution of a Ball

open access: yesInternational Scholastic Journal of Science, 2009
The relationship between the internal air pressure and the coefficient of restitution was investigated for an inflated rubber ball. The ball was dropped and its position was tracked with a motion detector.
