Growth rate effects in soft CoFe films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We report on growth rate effects in sputter-deposited CoFe films prepared using high target utilization sputtering technology (HiTUS). We find that the grain structure of these polycrystalline films is closely related to the growth rate.

Tailoring the magnetic properties of Fe asymmetric nanodots

open access: yes, 2011
Asymmetric dots as a function of their geometry have been investigated using three-dimensional (3D) object oriented micromagnetic framework (OOMMF) code. The effect of shape asymmetry of the disk on coercivity and remanence is studied. Angular dependence

Quantitative Decoding of Interactions in Tunable Nanomagnet Arrays Using First Order Reversal Curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
To develop a full understanding of interactions in nanomagnet arrays is a persistent challenge, critically impacting their technological acceptance. This paper reports the experimental, numerical and analytical investigation of interactions in arrays of ...

Multiscale examination of strain effects in Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets

open access: yes, 2017
We have performed a combined first-principles and micromagnetic study on the strain effects in Nd-Fe-B magnets. First-principles calculations on Nd2Fe14B reveal that the magnetocrystalline anisotropy (K) is insensitive to the deformation along c axis and

High performance hot-deformed Nd-Fe-B magnets (Review)

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2021
Hot-deformed anisotropic Nd-Fe-B magnets may potentially attain high coercivity due to their fine and highly orientated crystal grain microstructure as a result of the unique production process that creates these magnets.

Exchange Bias in Nanostructures: An Update

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
Exchange bias (EB) is a unidirectional anisotropy occurring in exchange-coupled ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic systems, such as thin films, core–shell particles, or nanostructures.

La–Mg-Substituted M-Type Sr-Hexaferrites for Enhanced Hard Magnetic Properties

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study investigates the structural and magnetic properties of La–Mg co-substituted M-type strontium hexaferrites with the compositions Sr1−xLaxFe12−xMgxO19 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15), synthesized via a conventional solid-state reaction route.

Experimental approaches for micromagnetic coercivity analysis of advanced permanent magnet materials

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials, 2021
Although coercivity is one of the fundamental properties of permanent magnets, it has not been well understood. In this paper, micromagnetics and thermal activation magnetization reversal theories are briefly reviewed, and then our recent macroscopic and

Coercive Sexual Strategies

open access: yesViolence and Victims, 1998
This study examines the use of coercive sexual strategies by men and the outcomes of these behaviors for women. Using a sample of 541 college undergraduates, data were gathered from men on their use of three types of coercive sexual strategies and from women on their experiences with these same forms of behaviors.
