Longitudinal associations between play experiences and trajectories of preschoolers' mental health from April–July, 2020

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Based on data collected monthly from April to July 2020, we found that time spent playing outside and with other children were associated with lower internalising problems across time in preschool‐aged children, whereas more time spent playing alone was associated with more severe internalising problems.

Investigating the impact of early adversity on perceived support from parents and friends in preadolescence: Do genetic predispositions and timing of exposure matter?

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
This study found that youth with a higher genetic risk for internalizing and externalizing problems were more likely to face adversity within their home, highlighting the need for risk mitigation. These associations varied by adversity type and timing. Additionally, low family income, parental divorce, and externalizing behaviours were linked to lower ...

Harnessing personal and social resources in managing internalising and externalising symptoms in children living in low‐resource settings

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Children growing up in low‐resource settings are at greater risk for lifelong psychiatric problems. They are both more likely to have risk factors for early psychopathology and to be less likely to seek help and engage support for these problems.

From regulatory mechanisms to cutting‐edge applications: Research progress of ultrasound, electrical, magnetic, and optical stimulation in neural modulation

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract In recent years, the clinical treatment and symptom management of neurological disorders have faced significant challenges due to the high complexity of the nervous system's structure and function. Against this backdrop, physical stimulation techniques have emerged as a vital complementary approach to traditional pharmacological treatments and

Neurophysiological correlates of visually induced motion sickness severity: A scoping review of the impact of experimental settings on EEG spectral power

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes EEG findings from 28 VIMS studies across four inducing scenarios (abstract cues, virtual videos, vehicle driving, and game scenes) and two display types (HMD and monitor). While Delta/Theta enhancement consistently reflects sensory conflict, Alpha activity shows context dependency: predominantly increasing during passive viewing

Cognitive radio networks

IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, 2009
In this article, we are interested in an important paradigm of secondary systems known as cognitive radio (CR) networks where the secondary terminals are envisioned to be capable of sensing and reasoning about the operating radio environments and thereby autonomously adjusting their transceiver parameters to exploit the underutilized radio resources in

On cognitive processes in cognitive radio networks

Wireless Networks, 2013
In this article we model the cognitive processes and evaluate their impact on the performance of cognitive radio networks (CRN). Operation of the cognitive radio nodes, can be characterized by two types of processes: communication processes such as packets transmission, and cognitive processes such as estimation of the network state and decision-making

Cooperation in Cognitive Radio Networks

2014 Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems, 2014
The operation of cognitive radio (CR) networks involves opportunistic access to the spectrum licensed to primary users (PUs) by secondary users (SUs). Traditionally, this access is performed in such a way that the PUs suffer minimal interference to their access to the spectrum, trying to make the SUs as transparent as possible to PUs.

Cognitive radio network management

IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, 2008
The regulatory agencies have been pushed by the increasing demand for wireless ubiquitous connectivity to be ever more aggressive in providing innovative ways to use spectra efficiently. Driven by these new opportunities, the future radio systems should look for the optimized architecture, circuit, and algorithm as a whole. In this article, it has been

Cognitive Radio Networks

China Communications, 2013
Recent advances in Cognitive Radio (CR) technology are reshaping modern wireless communications systems. Among numerous contributions CR technology has made, Radio Access Technology (RAT) multiplicity and Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) are of paramount importance. Advances in radio design now routinely allow multiple RATs to coexist on the same wireless
