Cognitive Styles and Learning Disabilities
Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1982Research is reviewed relating the cognitive style dimensions of field dependence and reflection-impulsivity to underachievement, process deficits (minimal brain dysfunction), and hyperactivity. In general, field independence and a reflective cognitive style are associated with better performance.

Cognitive Style as a Dimension of Personality
Journal of Personality Assessment, 1973Summary Sixty college students were selected on the basis of their performance on an unstructured personality measure, Rokeach's Interrelations Task. Interrelatedness of ideas was significantly related to resistance to the influence of peer norms and to performance on a comprehensive, college-level examination.

Lateral Preference and Style of Cognition
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1979The relationship between cognitive ability and laterality was examined in tetras of the relation of intelligence test scores to lateral preference. The factor analysis was performed on the variables of 12 tasks of the intelligence scale and total lateral preference. A slight relation was found between lateral preference and figure combination task.
