Oxidation induced strain and defects in magnetite crystals

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Oxidation of magnetite has broad implications in geochemistry and environmental science, but its reaction mechanisms are not fully understood yet. Here the authors use Bragg coherent diffractive imaging to show oxidative dissolution of magnetite inducing

Coherent diffraction imaging by moving a lens

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
A moveable lens is used for determining amplitude and phase on the object plane. The extended fractional Fourier transform is introduced to address the single lens imaging. We put forward a fast algorithm for the transform by convolution. Combined with parallel iterative phase retrieval algorithm, it is applied to reconstruct the complex amplitude of ...

Multi-wavelength phase retrieval for coherent diffractive imaging

open access: yes, 2020
Phase retrieval is a numerical procedure concerned with the recovery of a complex-valued signal from measurements of its amplitude. We describe a generalization of this method for multi-wavelength data acquired in a coherent diffractive imaging ...

Direct single-shot phase retrieval from the diffraction pattern of separated objects

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Short X-ray pulses from free-electron lasers enable coherent diffractive imaging of noncrystalline objects such as single molecules. Here, the authors reconstructing full image information from a single-shot diffraction pattern by using two sufficiently ...

Few-femtosecond resolved imaging of laser-driven nanoplasma expansion

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
The free expansion of a planar plasma surface is a fundamental non-equilibrium process relevant for various fields but as-yet experimentally still difficult to capture.

Coherent diffractive imaging methods for semiconductor manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The paradigm shift of the semiconductor industry moving from deep ultraviolet to extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) brought about new challenges in the fabrication of illumination and projection optics, which constitute one of the core sources of ...

A new, sensitive diffractive optic angle meter

open access: yes, 2002
A sensitive diffractive optic angle meter scheme, based on coherent imaging of two laterally shifted phase gratings onto a third, their periods matched, is presented and experimentally investigated.

Phase-Diverse Coherent Diffractive Imaging: High Sensitivity with Low Dose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This Letter demonstrates that coherent diffractive imaging (CDI), in combination with phase-diversity methods, provides reliable and artefact free high-resolution images.

All-optical synthesis of an arbitrary linear transformation using diffractive surfaces

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2021
Spatially-engineered diffractive surfaces have emerged as a powerful framework to control light-matter interactions for statistical inference and the design of task-specific optical components.

Density Measurement of Irradiated and Nonirradiated Zirconium Oxide by Ptychographic X‐Ray Computed Tomography (PXCT)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mass density governs the protective behavior of oxide layers on nuclear fuel cladding. Ptychographic X‐ray computed tomography measures zirconium oxide grown on Zircaloy‐4 under reactor and autoclave conditions, revealing nearly identical bulk densities of 5.1 ± 0.80 g cm−3.
