Characteristic features of winter precipitation and its variability over northwest India [PDF]
Northwestern parts of India receive considerable amount of precipitation during the winter months of December-March. Although, it is only about 15 of the annual precipitation, the precipitation is very important for rabi crops and to maintain the ...

Climatic and oceanic associations with daily rainfall extremes over southern Africa [PDF]
Changes in climate variability and, in particular, changes in extreme climate events are likely to be of far more significance for environmentally vulnerable regions than changes in the mean state.

A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

A coarsening model for coherent precipitates [PDF]
The morphological evolution of coherent inclusions in elastic media is studied in two-dimensions. The inclusions are simple dilations with isotropic surface energy in a system with homogeneous elastic constants of negative anisotropy. The equilibrium sizes at which a circular inclusion transforms to a rectangle or square, and at which a square splits ...

Coherent-to-semi-coherent transition of precipitates in niobium-hydrogen thin films
Nucleation and growth in thin films are studied by using niobium-hydrogen (Nb-H) as model system. Hydride precipitation in thin films results in local surface topography changes that can be monitored by scanning tunneling microscopy. The local film expansion can be used to detect hydride precipitates, to study their growth, to gain information about ...

Atomic scale investigation of Cr precipitation in copper
The early stage of the chromium precipitation in copper was analyzed at the atomic scale by Atom Probe Tomography (APT). Quantitative data about the precipitate size, 3D shape, density, composition and volume fraction were obtained in a Cu-1Cr-0.1Zr (wt.%

A case study of HF radar spectral width in the post midnight magnetic local time sector and its relationship to the polar cap boundary [PDF]
International audienceThe aim of this paper is to advance the current understanding of the spectral width parameter observed by coherent high frequency (HF) radars. In particular, we address the relationship of a frequently observed gradient, between low

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
