Mechanical properties and formability of EN AW-7075 in cold forming processes

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract Due to a low density and high tensile strength, the aluminum alloy EN AW 7075 T6 offers a high lightweight potential for structural components. Since its formability is limited at room temperature in the T6 temper state, the potential of this alloy for automotive bodies is only utilizable by adapted deep drawing processes.

Determination of the Optimal Reduction Ratio for Least Springback during Cold Drawing of Seamless Tubes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2018
Cold drawing process is one of the most used metals forming processes in industries for forming seamless tubes. This process of plastic deformation of metals occurs below the recrystallization temperature and is generally performed at room temperature ...

Cold stress in captive great apes recorded in incremental lines of dental cementum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Incremental lines in dental cementum of museum specimens of 11 free-ranging great apes were compared to the respective structures in 5 captive specimens of known age-at-death, and with many known life-history parameters.

Numerical investigation of manufacturing hollow preforms by combining the processes backward cup extrusion and piercing

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Hollow or tubular preforms are used to meet lightweight requirements and reduce production costs of cold formed components. In order to increase efficiency of manufacturing, a combined forming process was developed, which will be presented in this paper:

Development of a High-Performance Building Material Using Wood-based Corrugated Panels Manufactured via Cold-Forming Technique

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
A wood-based sandwich panel with a corrugated core was developed as a building material. A matched-die mold manufactured from commercial plywood was used to fabricate the corrugated panels through a cold-forming process.

Development of thermocyclic processing modes for carbon steels used on cold forming tools

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2023
In this paper, the effect of thermocyclic processing regimes on carbon tool steels used in cold stamping tools is considered. Thermocyclic processing (TCP) is based on the idea of repeated heating-cooling of steels at a temperature different from conventional heating.

Deuterium burning in objects forming via the core accretion scenario - Brown dwarfs or planets?

open access: yes, 2012
Aims. Our aim is to study deuterium burning in objects forming according to the core accretion scenario in the hot and cold start assumption and what minimum deuterium burning mass limit is found for these objects.

Wood-based Corrugated Core Sandwich Panels Manufactured Using a Wooden Mold

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
A wooden matched-die mold was manufactured to develop wood-based corrugated panels. Wood veneers brushed with resin were cold pressed between the mold halves and formed into a corrugated geometry.

Star formation in early-type galaxies: the role of stellar winds and kinematics

open access: yes, 2015
Early-type galaxies (ETGs) host a hot ISM produced mainly by stellar winds, and heated by Type Ia supernovae and the thermalization of stellar motions.
