Warm dark matter does not do better than cold dark matter in solving small-scale inconsistencies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Over the last decade, warm dark matter (WDM) has been repeatedly proposed as an alternative scenario to the standard cold dark matter (CDM) one, potentially resolving several disagreements between the CDM model and observations on small scales.

The Effect of Cosmological Background Dynamics on the Spherical Collapse in MOND

open access: yes, 2011
The effect of background dynamics of the universe on formation of large scale structures in the framework of Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) is investigated. A spherical collapse model is used for modeling the formation of the structures.

Cold dark matter. 1: The formation of dark halos

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1994
We use numerical simulations of critically-closed cold dark matter (CDM) models to study the effects of numerical resolution on observable quantities. We study simulations with up to $256^3$ particles using the particle-mesh (PM) method and with up to $144^3$ particles using the adaptive particle-particle --particle-mesh (P$^3$M) method. Comparisons of

Messenger sneutrinos as cold dark matter [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1997
In models where supersymmetry breaking is communicated into the visible sector via gauge interactions the lightest supersymmetric particle is typically the gravitino which is too light to account for cold dark matter. We point out that the lightest messenger sneutrinos with mass in the range of one to three TeV may serve as cold dark matter over most ...

Direct Recycling of Cold Work Tool Steel Swarf into New Cutting Disks via Field‐Assisted Sintering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Through a sintering method known as field‐assisted sintering technology/spark plasma sintering, cold work tool steel swarf can be directly recycled into new cutting disks. This method is capable of densifying the unconventional powder morphology of swarf, and it can also seal grinding contaminants, such as Al2O3, into the steel matrix.

Scalar representations in the light of electroweak phase transition and cold dark matter phenomenology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The extension of the standard model's minimal Higgs sector with an inert SU(2)L scalar doublet can provide light dark matter candidate and simultaneously induce a strong phase transition for explaining Baryogenesis.

Production of Metallic Foam Precursors Using Current‐Activated Pressure‐Assisted Densification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A powder compaction metallurgical method, known as current‐activated pressure‐assisted densification, is applied to enhance the compaction of metal foam precursors. This method improves precursor quality by achieving higher density, lower electrical resistivity, and more uniform pore nucleation in the resulting foams, reducing energy consumption and ...

Axion dark matter

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
Axions have a double motivation: they solve the ‘strong CP problem’ of the Standard Model of elementary particles and they are a candidate for the dark matter of the Universe.

νΛMDM: A model for sterile neutrino and dark matter reconciles cosmological and neutrino oscillation data after BICEP2

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2014
We propose an ultraviolet complete theory for cold dark matter (CDM) and sterile neutrinos that can accommodate both cosmological data and neutrino oscillation experiments within 1σ level.
